Meet Our Hopeful Families
So many of us feel there is a void in our lives that needs filling. Some associate this void with loss or pain. They don’t know what they feel is missing, and they often cannot place a name on it. We believe, quite simply, that this void is wanting genuinely to be able to give by taking a special child into their home and heart, but not having the ability to do so due to forces we simply can’t control.

Our journey began almost two years ago when my husband and I
decided our daughter needs a sister. We
had always thought about adoption and our hearts were once again calling us
that direction. We considered adopting
in the states, but after some research didn’t feel lead that direction. Shortly
after making that decision we met a family with two beautiful daughters from China. We were immediately drawn to them and we had
a million question. Our heart was
leading us to China
and we felt that clearly. After some
investigation, discussion with our extended family, and much prayer we decided
to move ahead with our adoption.
The process of adopting internationally is lengthy and
expensive. We explored a couple of ways
of raising money to help with the expense, but none of which helped out a
tremendous amount. Then we found out
about A Child’s Hope. Thanks to them we
were able to participate in the Bruce Cavanaugh raffle ticket fundraiser, which
helped us raise a significant sum of money to help with our inter-China travel,
which hopefully will be coming up soon.
(We are eagerly awaiting the referral for our daughter.) We are thankful for all A Child’s Hope does
to help unite children with their “forever families.”

The Lord laid adoption on our heart and not knowing how we could afford
it we were obedient and sent in our paperwork to AWAA. Every time a
payment has been due, the money has been there thanks to God's
faithfulness and organizations like A Child's Hope. Our family was able
to participate with A Child's Hope in the Bruce Cavenaugh Charity
Raffle and 100% of our ticket sales went
directly to our adoption agency. We hope to bring Emma Nan Fletcher
home from the Guangdong Province of China before the end of 2006. We
praise God for the blessing A Child's Hope has been to us and will be
to many other adopting families.
In Him,
Walt and Jennifer Fletcher
